Weekly recap...

Can I say there has been so much going on this week?  I could write a huge list, but I won't.  I did the artist event last week-end which was quite fun.  Hanging with other artists was nice and I didn't feel like I didn't fit in.  I have done craft fairs and I don't usually fit in, but this time people got me.

So this post is to recap this week since I didn't get a chance to write.

Event was worth it and I felt fearless, so check!  I achieved my goal and sold a little at the same time.  But while that was going on I got 3 special orders on my Etsy and my Facebook page...yeah!

Then the really BIG news came in via email.  I got 1 email that said they want to publish my work and have me write a featured article. WHAT!?!  Yeah, happy dance....re-read the email on Monday and in fact I am writing TWO featured articles on two different items.  Oh my...it didn't stop there because I got another email that one of my smaller items will also be in the readers gallery in the back of the magazine also and they need a blurb on that too.  So I guess I know what I will be working on this next week.  I can't wait to share with you what magazine, but it comes out June 2015.  I will keep you posted.

So I will share with you my new wearable art pendants that I have been painting this past week.  Let's just say I am taking the mini painting to an extreme.  I have a bunch to be added to my Etsy shop each day, but if you want one in a certain color please contact me at scrampalot@gmail.com

With all this good news, it has been a very stressful week.  My daughter is getting ready for her brain and spinal surgery on the 20th.  So to get her ready for them to shave her head for surgery,  we decided to thin out her hair a bit.

I think it looks great and we do know they will be shaving a stripe down the back of her head but I'm sure we can work with it.  That was an emotional day of cutting off her hair, shaving it and accepting that it is really going to happen.  But she was a trooper with all the pre-op testing.

Overall the week came with some joys and some tears.  May you have a wonderful week-end.  I think we are going to be low key this week-end.

Can I stop sewing?

I thought I would stop long enough to take a breath and share my Christmas colors with you.  I have posted for the last several years my ever changing color schemes for my Christmas decorations.
Last year was silver and gold with vintage off white.

This year I have gravitated toward aqua and teal.  It's in my kitchen and believe me I would put in my sewing room too.  But I had this great idea to add it to my Christmas tree and so forth.  I must really drive my hubby crazy!

I got this vase, which is great for my mantel and will eventually make it into my kitchen.  It is so yummy.  I got it from Willow House, they are a spin off from Southern Living.

And this little tree I found at a craft show and had to have it.  Looks great in my office too.
I have the grand idea that I would make these this year...hahaha.  I have been sewing for two craft fairs for the last week and the first show is this Friday.  So that is where I will be...in my sweat shop!

So finally the tree is up!  I totally forgot to get rid of the cords hanging around the base, better do that before someone trips.  But we bought a slim line tree this year, so at the end of the day I still have my vintage off white ornaments on the tree just added a little POP of Aqua and Teal!

I'll be sharing more tomorrow.
Go out and make something sparkly!

Christmas Cheer

Just hoping your are having a wonderful last week-end before Christmas.  I was just fooling around with the red nose feature to see if I could make Kiska's nose red.  Oh well she just looked so cute after the groomers, no telling how long the bows will last.

Have a happy Saturday...I'm working on something for Monday but it is a secret right now.

Little Black Dress

I think every woman needs one.
Don't you think?
It always makes you feel good, skinny and stylish.

Today I altered a little Halloween dress for Kiska, so she can rock the neighborhood.
She's all dressed for the day.

Here Kiska is striking a pose.  She's letting you see that there is a little flower made with Mom's Nestablitiy Blossom shapes, felt and lace!

Now she is peeking outside my office door, all ready to go shopping!!  Hate to break it to her that I'm going to Costco and they don't let dogs in, not like Petco yesterday where she got to meet several
canine friends.

This post was for fun...I'm actually finishing 2 cards when I get back from Costco.

Happy Shopping!
Go visit my online shop at:

My Kiska

What is about 12" long, stands about 10" tall and has a fuzzy tail?  Kiska!!  You either love her or hate her.  The reason I say that is because she has the most anoying bark, you know that "yappy", non-stop, high pitch bark.  But without hearing aids I can't hear the door bell when I'm upstairs, so she let's me know when anyone comes to the house.  It takes quite some time to get her to stop barking, but she is worth it.

This week-end we went to buy Kiska some little dresses to BLING her up for fall, so there will be more photos of her.  But this is a picture of her laying in her little bed in my scrap loft.  Whenever I'm creating she comes upstairs and lays in her bed.  She always just a few feet from me.

I'm still into making those little photo books and just had to make one for my girl.  Everyone at work wants to see pictures of her...so here the little book that I made for my baby.

Kiska's little book was made with the CTMH Unforgettable paper pack.

This little book was made with CTMH Bella paper pack.

License to drive

Yesterday I did not create anything took the day off and went to the movies and saw Julie & Julia. Very funny and cute movie. Even the hubby enjoyed it or he was saying that to make me happy, but either I would watch the movie again. It is nice to see Meryl Streep in theatre again and a different role.

So today, or right now I wanted to share a cartoon that my friend Tonya sent me along with Jessie sporting her new license. Anchorage driver's watch out!

Lily & G-pa

I am so tired from the fabulous week-end in Long Beach, CA and have just arrived in Denver this evening to spend the week with Lily & Paxton. I thought I would share a cute little picture I took of Keith & Lily during our short little visit. Tonight I give you a peek into our new adventure of bring grandparents.

I promise to get my artwork loaded in the morning. I'm so excited to share with you all the new stuff that is coming with the new CTMH Winter Catalog. So see you soon. - Judy

Finally a Baby Picture!!

Here's is a picture of Lilyanne (left) and Paxton (right). The two of them share the same birthday June 30th. I think Keith is finally a proud grandpa now that he has seen pictures.
I wish both of these little kiddos a lifetime of fun and family. They get to meet Grandpa Applegarth August 1st.

I'm back

I'm so glad to be back home in Anchorage...I know San Jose was nice with it's 80 degree weather AND I have the tan to prove it. Although I want to apologize for not posting pictures while I was there, my laptop was having issues & didn't want save pictures to my dad's.

So update on dad...he has to stay close to home while he is recovering and in his neck brace for 3-4 months more. But we got his hot tub cleaned and up and running! Doesn't he look happy?
