CSAYL - This week's card

TGIF!  I'm so happy it is Friday.  I plan on a fun week-end with a quilt shop hop with a few girlfriends but first to start every week-end off I get another Christmas card done.

I have to say that I didn't quite follow the challenge this week...ok when do I follow rules?  This week's challenge at CSAYL was to make a Christmas card for a teacher.  Well I have to admit that my daughter has not been in public school since she was in 6th grade and she is now turning 21yo.  She and I chose to homeschool.  So if you have some ideas of a teacher card I would love to hear it...or better yet we would love to have you join our challenge this week over at CSAYL.

I hop you have a wonderful week-end.
Happy Stamping.

Just a silly Monkey

That is Sock Monkey!  Isn't he or she, not sure on the sex, cute?  I didn't put a sentiment because I wasn't sure if it looks like a baby card or I love you card or me being silly!  The Sock Monkey image is from Whimsie Doodles and it is from their valentines images.   However, that car company and that wild sock monkey having a wild party and getting a tatoo has started a new silly phases that I'm on.  I think I needed a little diversion from all this cancer worrying.  Keith's dad is next to have surgery for lungs in his lungs, which is Thursday.  When it rains it pours.

So the other night Keith and I were walking through Target and he found these adorable little slippers for me, check these out!
Well I do have some happy news to share, but it will have to wait until tomorrow!

Do something silly today and think of what this card can be used for, give me suggestions!

Teddy Bear 123 challenge!!

Good morning!  It is a busy, busy day this wintery Friday!  I say wintery because we got 4 inches of snow yesterday!  Whoo hoo!!  I wanted to start the day with a challenge blog, called Teddy Bear Stampers. Here is a great group of ladies that has card challenge's every 2 weeks. So go pull out your teddy bear stamps and go check them out!

This week's challenge is to create a crd with 1 ribbon, 2 papers, & 3 brads.  Boy, this was a challenge for me, the person who likes layers & layers and bling!  I wasn't sure I could do it.  I chose CTMH Wishes Book as a good starting point for this card.  It is amazing how easy it was by using a pre-designed card sketch that fit this challenge perfectly.   The bear image I used is from the Whimsie Doodles blog.  It is a freebies only available on their blog, so go scoop that up!  If you want to participate in our challenge, you can upload your picture in our group on Paper Craft Planet or go directly to Teddy Bear Stampers blog and link your photo!

Join me in on the fun! - Judy

Cookie Recipe book

Today we are having a retirement party for Fran, a co-worker at the university where I work.  And I was told that she likes cookies.  So our team has been collecting cookie recipes and I made this quick little book to giver her.  I hope she likes it.  I know it is simple, but each person is signing their recipe to give it a personal touch.

I  used CTMH Bella paper pack, my Nestablity die and a ginger bread image from Whimsie Doodles.  This book was laminated so that it can be in the kitchen and get dirty with no worries.

Have a happy day! - Judy

ps. tomorrow I will be posting great little co-worker gifts or they could be good stocking stuffers!  Stay tuned.

It's a Whimsie Day!

Today is the reveal day for Whimsie Doodles new releases! Whoo ho!
They came out with some really cute designs this time. I chose two of the images and really wish I chose the third one.  You will have to go to their blog to see that one.  But anyways, I had a blast making these cards.  The snowmen carolling card was diecut crazy!  I used the snowflake cartridge from Cricut, add a Nestability label die, a Cuttlebug embossing folder and a great image!  The papers were all CTMH.

OK...Happy New Years!  Just in time to send a special note to someone who will be toasting the new year.  I don't drink martini's so I wasn't sure what color they were, but I knew what color a Cosmo was.  I think this little lamb needed pink!  I flocked her upper body with Doodlebug crushed velvet and used liquid glass on the martini glass (wish you could see that in the picture).

Both card were lots of fun to make.  If you want to see more go to Whimsie's blog.
Have a great Tuesday - Judy

Seeing Snowmen for Christmas

 Aren't these adorable?
These cute little bookmarks were so fun to make and really easy.  Thanks to Melyssa at Whimsie Doodles!  If you want the template just go to Snowman bookmark. And make a few for stocking stuffers for those book readers in your family.

I printed the template right on white cardstock and colored with my Copic markers, then laminated them for extra sturdiness and add a magnet.  Here is the pink one standing in the back...

the purple one is my favorite, but I did make 10 and Jessie made 4.  We went snowman crazy!

Whimsie Wednesday challenge #10

This week's challenge is to make a card that encompasses a circle, because Santa needs his cookies.  If you want to see the details of the challenge it is over at Paper Craft Planet.  The supplies that I used for this card were CTMH desert sand, cranberry & black cardstock, Whimsie Doodles digi Ginger's Collection, Copic markers, ribbon and sparkles.

Dosen't this just make you hungry for some chocochip cookies?
Enjoy! - Judy

Cleaning out my stash

SO EXCITED!! This card was chosen for publication.

I just found a Three Bugs in a Rug paper pack that I think I have had for about 2 years.  Its great to go shopping in your own craft closet!  Each day I have been purging stuff hoping that Keith will get a job in the lower 48.  So as I go thru my craft stuff I make three piles, play, store or sale.  This paper pack needed to be played with.

Isn't this cupcake adorable?

It had been such a blast to play with this Whimsie Doodles digi image, Muffin for Christmas, and then I get my much needed Copic practice.  I used CTMH cardstock (petal, twilight, amethyst), twilight ribbon, Martha Stewart border punch, Spellbinders shapeabilities create a flake 1 die cut and sparkles.

It's December!

24 days to Christmas!  Can you beleive it?
I was having fun with the new Whimsie Doodle new releases for December.  This one is called Underwear for Christmas.  It has the cutest saying, which my ribbon is covering a little..."When you stop believing in Santa you get underwear for Christmas".  I also thought it was pretty funny that I'm posting my daughter's underwear on a blog!  They are clean! They are going into her stocking.  But what a great way to embarrass a 19 year old.

Here is a second image being released today: Snow Angel.  If you want to see all the releases and more examples go to http://whimsiedoodles.blogspot.com/

The lucky winner was Country Mouse - she gets a free download of Christmas Panties! Email me.
I hope you have a wonderful day, see you tomorrow! - Judy

Whimsie Wednesday - Mele Kalikimaka

Today I decided to work on a card challenge from Whimsie Doodles.  The challenge was to do a summer card for those of you who are tired of the drab winter weather.  Something bright and cheery and using a summer digi from Whimsie Doodles.  I chose Ride the Wave, it is such a cute little bear, BUT I wanted to give him a little festive accessory.  So I got out my handy-dandy black pen and drew a Santa hat for my little surfin bear.  Hang 10 (oops I mean 6) Dude!

I knew I was saving this retired CTMH paper, Groovy Blossoms for a reason. Other supplies are Copic markers, Nestabilities, Cuttle Bug embossing folder, white gel pen, random paper flowers & sparkles.
