Resolutions

As the New Year approaches many people talk about resolutions.  So many times people are trying to give up something or lose a few pounds.  Believe me I would love to lose a few pounds or give up my Diet Pepsi (ok not really on the Diet Pepsi) but I don't want to beat up myself for falling short.  Usually within a few weeks I have given up on my past resolutions.  This year I thought I would leave inspirational resolutions on my desk to look at each day for this upcoming year.

And I wanted to start early by saying "Thank You" to the girls at S2G.  It has been a wonderful year of being on your design team and having the chance to create with their wonderful images.  It will be hard to not think of your girls every Thursday and not being able to greet my readers with a TWISTED challenge.  So go on over to S2G for this week's challenge.

Almost done, finishing gift tags...

Today I'm working on the last of the gift tags for the presents under the tree.  And what a perfect time to do it on TWISTED THURSDAY at S2G!  The TWIST this week is to do anything Christmas.  I just love the Joy Angel.  Such a great image for my gift tags.

Oh flock!

That's right flock, as in flocking!  I have to tell you that flocking is a little difficult to make it look smooth and fluffy!  I think I might flock a card maybe 2xs a year, so here is my attempt.

Watch out it's Twisted Thursday

Twisted Thrusday is back!

This month we are celebrating the upcoming holiday - Christmas!  And don't I have the cutest little guy giving us the update that "the fat man in the red suit is on his way". 

Do you have your shopping done?  I hate to admit this but I haven't really started.  I think I'm burned out on shopping, trying to shop for all the stuff needed for this house.

Anyways, today is Twisted Thursday at S2G and this week's TWIST is BOWS & BUTTONS.  So go out there and create something with bows & buttons.  We would love to have you.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm thankful for a wonderful husband who allows me to follow my dreams.

I'm thankful for my daughter who has been a great daughter but also a friend.

I'm thankful that all our family members are healthy this year.

I'm thankful for the friends who have been by my side riding that wild wave called life.

I'm thankful for those of you who have been commenting on my blog to give me the little boost/encouragement to create everyday.

I'm thankful for the design teams that have allowed me to be a part of their teams, they have been a great source of inspiration.

Speaking of design teams...today is Thursday and S2G does not have a challenge this week but has a DT share.  So today I am sharing a wonderful card and a recipe for some awesome cookies.

My card share was a fun personal challenge for me...printing a digi on fabric to do fabric piecing.

Here is the image  printed on the purple fabric, next the challenge to cut it out.  The most difficult part was cutting around the hands and remembering which image you are cutting out!  I am so surprised I kept is straight.

 

Anyways, here is the finished card...

This image is great for thanking mom for all that she does, but I can't tell her in person.  So this card will remind me of the day I spent with Jessi yesterday, making the card, making cookies, giggling all morning long.  I like purple and Jessi likes blue so you know who is who in this card!  But as promised I was going to share our cookie recipe with you.

Lemon Snowflakes

Don't these look yummy?  They are super easy and very little ingredients.

1 pkg. lemon cake mix

2 1/4 cups whipped topping

1 egg

confectioners sugar

Combine cake mix, whipped topping and egg in mixing bowl.  Mix until blended. (Batter will be sticky.)  Drop spoonfuls of batter into a bowl of confectioners sugar, roll lightly to coat.

Bake at 250 for 10-12 mins. or light brown.  Approx. 5 dozen.

WARNING! They are addicting.

Today is Thursday...

And that means it's time for a TWISTED THURSDAY challenge at S2G.

The theme for the month is "Thanks" and the twist for this week is to add leaves to your project.

I didn't add Fall leaves but my digi had great leaves and i wanted to give you an upclose look at it.

Yes, I printed the flower 3 times and cut each section to give this flower a 3-D look.

You don't have to do that for the challenge but it was lots of fun!  So grab up an image and add some leaves and join in on our S2G challenge.

Happy Veteran's Day

Along with it being Veteran's Day and my hubby home, it is also TWISTED THURSDAY weekly challenge.

This week's challenge is to include a pumpkin in your project (card, layout, 3-d item).  Just have fun with it and enjoy your Autumn day.  Just hop on over to S2G blog and join the challenge.

Welcome to Twisted Thursday!

With fall in full swing and Thanksgiving just a few weeks away, we at S2G TT wanted to do a little more than share our weekly inspiration projects.

This week we are giving thanks to all of our participants and visitors. That said, it's time to start the Thanksgiving Hop! You'll travel to each DT's blog to view her inspiration project for this week's challenge. There'll be all kinds of tips, tricks, and tutorials along the way! Also, there is a grand prize and some of the DT members have a hidden prize. In order to qualify for a prize, you need to leave a comment about what you are thankful for. What are you waiting for??...start hopping!! BUT first take a look at what I did.

Here I made a mini phone book and matching card for my friends that I'm so thankful for having, but it is also a kind reminder that we need to call each other rather than relying on emails and Facebook...hint, hint.

I love making little gifty things for friends AND my daughter loves making me little goodies when I create.  My little helpful tip is that you can't stamp and color without chocolate!!

Yes she made a tray full of mini chocolate cupcakes - yummy!  The best part they are low-cal, so no gulty feelings here.  So take a sweet with you as you hop on over to LAUREL'S blog for her little goodies.  If you get lost along the hop go to S2G blog.

 REMEMBER:  (This hop will end on the seventh; however, the challenge will continue through the 10th.)

Trick or Treat Twisted Thursday!

It's Trick or Treat time at Shirley's 2 Girls. 

This week's Twisted Thursday challenge is to make something with trick or treat as the theme.  Well I thought everyone must be busy trying to get costumes ready, parties to go to and just making cute little bags for friends in no time flat would be a great project!  That is where the digital images from S2G are great!

My project was SUPER simple but great for me to throw into my daughter's and hubby's lunches.

Twisted Thursday challenge - Boo!!

Today is Thursday and ready to start the new challenge of the week with S2G! The are an awesome group of ladies and did you know that they have stamp sets on sale right now for $1.00?  You need to go check S2G out. 

The TWIST for this week is to make a card or project with the word "Boo" on it.  I had these wonderful little kitties and wanted to do something a little different than a card.  I chose to do a wall hanging to hang in my new house.

Thursday is Twisted with S2G!

Good Morning it is Twisted Thursday with Shirley's 2 Girls!

This week TWIST is SPOOKY! 

And spiders are spooky to me and boy I have had a few encounters with spiders here in NV.  My hubby thinks they are wolf spiders but I don't know what they are.  All I know they are bigger than Alaskan spiders and hairy.  They move fast too, for two days I had 2 follow my car into the garage and have been met with my broom!  I can be spooky with a broom too!

I'm back for Twisted Thursday!

First off I have to appologize that I disappeared off blog land for a little bit.  My life has been turned upside down with my hubby in another state, me in Alaska, realtors coming in all the time, usually when I want to create and I'm living in a VERY BARE house.

BUT like I said I'm back for Twisted Thursday with the girls from Shirley's 2 Girls.  And this weeks challenge is RED. So come and join us with a fun red card!  This week our awesome design team are getting ready for back to school, do you have some little ones going back to school or big ones?  My DD is still attending college but she would love to get this gift card for clothes, food, books or gas!

Ok so they picked a color that I don't do much with, so it is great to have these challenges so I can pull out those other colors in my Copic box.

Funny that the girls picked a cactus for me this week.  I was in Reno, NV Saturday thru Monday and I wanted to see a cactus, but all I saw was tumble weeds.  I'm an Alaskan girl didn't really think tumble weeds were real, just thought they were something that was in old western movies.  Well they grow really well in Reno!  That's a whole other story about how front yards looks nice, but back yard are sand, gravel and tumble weeds.

Anyways, whatever your card includes...has to be orange somewhere!  Have fun with it and join us with this week's S2G challenge.

Twisted Thursday Challenge - Something New!!!

This week over at Shirley's 2 Girls we are still celebrating BRIDES! 

This week's challenge TWISTED THURSDAY is something NEW...well I'm on a no buying spree right now, but I do have some new stuff in my stash, Like my Die-namics die for that awesome rick-rack border and new flowers that I have never used.  What a great excuse to use them.

I just love this image from S2G - Bride & Gifts.  I wanted to keep her a little traditional by going with an off white dress, but a splash of pink on the corset.  The photo does not do it justice.  I may have to take another photo.
