Show Me Challenge

Yes when I create I have stuff all over the place.   You won't see the mess to often online, but if you come to my house it becomes a mess every time I create.  However the mess gets twice as much if both Jessi & I are creating together which is quite often!  Thank goodness I have a forgiving hubby.  Why you ask?  He has to share this space with me...hahaha.  It is actually a good sized room 14' x 12'.  So here is a peek into my room.  It is still had bare walls and most of the mess is behind cabinet doors so it looks tidy in a hurry.

Today I picked up the space and started a new project, which I will share later.  After each project I do pick up otherwise I have too many piles on the floor.  I'm trying to break me of the habit of throwing my piles in the middle of walkways.  Hard habit to curb.  So here is neat & tidy room...

I'm on the left and hubby on the right.  This is what you see when you walk thru the double doors into room.  then you turn to the LEFT and see my working side.  Some storage for the things you grab all the time...embellishments, ribbon, copics, nesties, stamps are all in the cabinets above my desk and in the bins.

Next you turn to the RIGHT and you see the wall of storage.  We lined the upper and lower with cabinets.  they store my Cricut, paper, printers, books, odd stuff to alter, other die cutters, office supplies and of course a few cabinets for my hubby's stuff.

But today I had a wild hair to change my Copic storage system.  They have been in my CTMH stamp storage boxes and that is great for portability.  My last house I would work upstairs and downstairs, now I'm all in one room.  So I wanted easy access.  Not sure if it will work, but I thought I would give it a try for a couple of weeks.  And these cute tins were on sale at Micheal's.

See there is still space in my tins for some more copics.  Maybe Santa will fill my stocking with copics...probably not but I can give him my list anyways.

So this is my SHOW ME challenge for Sassy Cheryl's blog.  Go check out a where the other peeps create and get some storage or crafting ideas.  Who doesn't like to peek at others rooms?

Happy Saturday - Judy

Organizing Monday...

I had an ugly blank wall in my scraproom and wasn't sure if I wanted more cabinets so this is what I did.

These are some shutters for the outside of the house.  I got them at Home Depot for $25 for the set of 2.  I thought is would be a creative way to display my latest cards that I have been working on and to display those cards that I get from my Snail Mail group.  I have a few people who wanted to be on the list to get Happy Mail.  So I am pretty happy to be able to look up and see this while I'm creating.

Speaking of creating...I'm working hard on my December 1st class.  We are making a card, box and ornament, but I'm showing this work in progress because over at Sassy Cheryl's Designs she has a weekly challenge for you to show off your workspace.  Here is a little snippet of my workspace because I'm not yet ready to show off the NEW Scraproom.  It's coming soon.

So have a happy Monday and either join me with organizing your scraproom, Happy Snail Mail OR join Sassy Cheryl's "SHOW ME" challenge.

Room color inspiration

Ahhh...inspiration for the colors of my scraproom and a card challenge at Paper Sundaes to boot.  I just love this paper from My Minds Eye and the stamp set is from CTMH  A Sip.  This week-end I made some progress on the scraproom.  See the room has to be functional BUT also cute!  That is because it is right off the living room.  Yes it has doors, but they are glass.  Anyways here is my storage addition....
This the cubes from Micheal's on 40% coupon and boxes from Target.  It all started with my ribbon drawer...

I got rid of alot of ribbon when we moved but I had 5 zip lock bags full all off the spools.  There was no way I was going to roll them back onto spools again!  I also found more ribbon in the guest room - oops!  Must have been another stash.  So I decided to try ribbon boxes again.  I did that before and hated them but that was because I had all the ribbon on spools and on a dowel inside the box.  It never failed I would run out of ribbon in the middle of the dowel then have to pull everything out and then put that ribbon back thru those little holes!!  Agh - not this time.  Here's the box...

Cute simple plain.  That's ok they are on the shelf.  BUT here is the inside...

Yep I can keep my mess and no one will know, except you.

Have a happy Monday organizing. - Judy

Technique Tuesday

Today I wanted to share a fun little project I did yesterday.  Which I forgot to post my scraproom storage update too!  I'm a bad blogger.

On my outings to the antique shops I picked up a big stack of old music books.  The one I got was torn and falling apart at the seams but that it would be perfect for altering and more.  So today I wanted to show you a few things I did with my Cuttlebug, Nesties and music scores!
A little thinking of you, something sweet and simple.

Love the heart with music...could have added a cute comment like "you make my heart sing".

And yes I fell into making the first Christmas card!  But the music can be used several ways. I hope to show you some more way to use up my music sheets!

So here is my storage find of the week...I think these drawer dividered are for socks or underwear but they are perfect for holding a drawer full of flowers.  Ok my drawer is not totally full because hubby made me sell some, so I guess that means a shopping spree!  Actually I'm now only buying white flowers because you can dye them any color you want with re-inkers, color them with Copics or spray them Glimmer Mist.

Have a great Tuesday! - Judy

Monday scrap organization goodies...

Happy Monday!
I told you that on Monday's I would post scraproom or storage tidbits and here I am with a little tidbit.  Mainly my way of thinking thru my organization of my own scraproom.  Next week I will share my new cabinets (got half of them up), but I have to move my stuff into them first.

This week-end I went to antique shops looking for vintage storage goodies for my desk and to add color to my vanilla office.  My hubby is against painting, at least for now, because he had to paint to whole house in Alaska before it went on the market.  Anyways looking for color, theme and storage/organization for the room to give it that personalized look.  As always I'm am drawn towards RED.  If you ever saw my kitchen in AK I had this RED accent wall that I loved.  Off topic again...well color scheme has to be agreeable with Keith since I'm sharing space.  So we agreed on displaying all his vintage cameras, thinking that cameras and scrapbooking good hand and hand, right?  And that is where we are...
Vintage cameras, RED and baby blue to give it a retro feel, maybe a few cherries to boot!!

MY QUESTION FOR TODAY:
What would you store in these little dishes and salt containers(blue)?  Buttons, flowers, brads?  What things do you grab for the most when crafting?  I would love your input!

Here are a few more goodies that we got for the room, are they the cutest?

Have a FAB day! Can't wait to here what I should store in my little dishes.- Judy

Week-end goodies...

This week-end I was a very productive week-end!  I finally feel like I'm making progress.

I woke up on Saturday and decided I needed to see progress on my scraproom/office.  I really needed more workspace and storage so I took a trip to the Pottery Barn.  Love that store!  My new addiction.  So I have too share my area with my hubby so we needed a great solution to this space where it would look clean and tidy and be functional.  So here is my start...great corner desks.  I'm going to give you Monday updates on how the room is doing, so you can see the transformation with me, pictures really help and maybe you will get some good ideas along the way.

Here is my hubby's side...

We have some Home Depot cabinets in the room for storage, but it is tough when we both do a hobby.  He builds robots from scratch and me with paper crafts!
But it looks like there is a space big enough to fit another Pottery Barn cabinet between us!  So excited means another shopping trip to PB!!

Along with PB, I went to a craft fair and found this little gem.

Well have a happy Monday! - Judy
